2006 SINOCES proved to
be a great success under the support of various
circles in society, and the four-day fair
attracted 62 000 attendees. The number of
top exhibitors reached 392, among which 82
were from overseas, accounting for over a
quarter of the total and being the highest
percentage. The total show space was 35 000
square meters and is one and half times than
last year. According to the survey from the
Municipal Statistic Bureau, 2006SINOCES brought
about an income worth RMB 264 million. It
earned revenue worth RMB 14.5 million calculated
according to the present taxation rate, increasing
41% than last year.

Theme
2006 SINOCES made “U shifts the world”
its theme and put forward the enterprise strategic
trend of “ubiquitous” for the
first time in the world. China International
Consumer Electronics Show is all too forward-looking,
for if we look on to the overall situation,
it is clear that most countries and regions
are still at the 'E' era, ie, the technology-directed
development stage. However, with the development
of technologies (or with the enhancement of
compatibility between software and hardware
products), the stage is facing the popularization
of products and the restrictions of user-directedness.
How to popularize 3G products after its convergence
and then how to meet users' individualistic
needs are deep reasons to advance the theme
of “U shifts the world” and the
strategy of “ubiquitous”. U strategy,
either 'unite', 'universal', 'user', 'unique',

Vice Premier Zeng Peiyan of
the State Council sent a congratulatory letter,
pointing out that our economy is largely promoted

of the old ones. The promotion of the international
exchange and cooperation in consumer electronics
field plays an active role in promoting technological
convergence, enhancing creativity and facilitating
economy growth. Zeng said that 2006 SINOCES
showcases an overall picture of new technologies
and products in global consumer electronics
and provides a good platform for the exchange
and communication of consumer electronics
industry at home and abroad. He hoped that
this platform could promote bilateral and
multilateral economic and technological cooperation,
exerting complementary advantages and jointly
pushing forward the development and prosperity
of electronics industry.

were present at the opening ceremony: Wei
Jianguo, Vice Minister, Ministry of Commerce,
Lou Qinjian, Vice Minister, Ministry of Information
Industry, Ma Songde, Vice Minister, Ministry
of Science and Technology, et al.
The
only Certification by American Government
in the Asia-Pacific Area
In June 2006, SINOCES passed Data Verification
with America Department of Commerce and achieved
its certification becoming the only one consumer
electronics fair recommended by America Department
of Commerce in the Asia-Pacific Area. It is
the first time in the history that one consumer
electronics fair is strongly supported by
both the Chinese and American government.
America Department of Commerce annually certifies
influential domestic and overseas trade fairs
so as to organize American delegations or
provide services and support. In the Asia-Pacific
Area, SINOCES is the only one consumer electronics
fair that passed the certification. Personnel
from the commercial councilor's office, the
US embassy in China, commented that the certification
had laid down a solid foundation for the further
development of SIONOCES. It was learned that
SINOCES was chosen by the US government for
the following two reasons: first, they realized
that the vast Chinese electronics market offered
American enterprises infinite business chance;
second, SINOCES with a steadily good record
is rising rapidly. In 2004 America Department
began to send personnel to investigate SINOCES,
in 2005 reached a preliminary agreement with
SINOCES, and in 2006 granted SINOCES the certification
after overall data verification and recommended
it worldwide. In the process, such factors
played a key role as SINOCES'sound development
record, strong support from the government,
vast market development space and excellent
steadiness.
Close Partnership with CES
In global consumer electronics
industry, the old two poles made up of by
American Las Vegas CES and German Cologne
CEBIT has been broken, with the rapid rise
of SINOCES and the conclusion of its only
global strategic partnership with CES. Thus
the new pattern of “winter in America
and summer in China” has come into being.
The SINOCES'deep cooperation with CES in 2006

to the instructions from the committee head,
careful arrangement was made about the opening
gala, opening ceremony, forum, guest meetings,
etc, so as to ensure the success of the event.

smoothly, and the warm and considerate reception
was highly spoken of by the guests at home
and abroad. It was agreed by the high-level
officials from the three ministries and directors
from overseas delegations that the prominent
outcome of attracting foreign capital and

in Qingdao. Looking through 2006 SINOCES,
