With a clear and blue sky, amazing coastline and pleasant weather, Qingdao is well renowned for its name, “Eastern Switzerland”. With Qingdao’s geographic convenience and the Consumer Electronics Industry support, SINOCES was set-up under these favorable conditions and is now an international centre for this industry. The China International Consumer Electronics Show is an event sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Science and Technology Industry and Shandong Provincial People’s Government. In collaboration with the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), the overseas sponsor and producer of the international CES and China Electronics Chamber of Commerce, SINOCES is now an international consumer electronics show.
Thanks to six years of nurturing, SINOCES has become a state-level, professional consumer electronics show, having the largest scale and highest reputation in China and Asia. From the start, SINOCES has attracted worldwide attention from both the Chinese government and also the consumer electronics industry. Wu Yi, Vice-premier of the State Council; Lou Qinjian, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology Industry and also Gary Shapiro, CEO of the CEA have attended the show and think highly of it.
SINOCES is now ranked among the world international consumer electronics shows because of its advantageous conditions. SINOCES is the only consumer electronics show that has been approved by Chinese State council. SINOCES is also certified by the US Department of Commerce, and has proudly become the only consumer electronics show in China that is recommended by the US government. SINOCES and CES cooperate in a way of mutual global promotion. After several years of strategic cooperation the two shows have formed a successful partnership.
Good preparation and improved service has made SINCOES a great success in 2007. 2007 SINOCES was held in Qingdao International Convention Center. Mr Zhou Guangzhao, vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of National People’s Congress P.R.C; Mr Wei Jianguo,Vice Minister, Ministry of Commerce, P.R.C., Jiang Daming, Surrogate Governor of Shandong Province; Qu Weizhi, President of China Electronic Chamber of Commerce; Xia Geng, Mayor of Qingdao Municipal Government and Gary Shapiro, President of Consumer Electronics Association, U.S. all attended the opening ceremony of 2007 SINOCES.
Following the tendency of 3C combination, 2007 SINOCES focused on the theme of “Connecting Anything” describing the further development of global consumer electronics industry. 2007 SINOCES attracted pioneers of the industry to participate in the show.
Over 430 companies exhibited in 2007 SINCOES, being an increase of 13% previously. Of these 430 companies, notable examples include GE, IBM, INTEL, HP, KODAK, SONY, NEC, TOSHIBIBA, LG, and PHILPS from overseas. Famous local companies such as HAIER, HISENSE, LENOVO, and TSINGHUA TONGFANG actively participated. This is the third time for the US Department of Commerce to organize companies for this show.
SINOCES has successfully invited high quality visitors including Best buy, Radio shack, 360 interchange, Wal-mart and Carrefour from abroad as well as Suning, Dazhong from home. Over 63,000 people from 30 countries visited the 2007 SINOCES.
Exhibited products of the 2007 SINOCES featured the main trends of global Consumer Electronics. SIEMENS Electrical Control Hot Water Heater, Sony “High Vision” solution, Haier U-home all showcased the recent trends and developments in consumer electronics. MID and UMPC from Intel have allowed consumers enjoy the joy of the Internet and digital family combinations. Sony Cyber-shot products, REGAZA LCD TV, Dolby and other newly developed products were exhibited in 2007 SINOCES.
The 22 series of industry forum offered an important platform to make deeper communication. The topics of the sessions extended from the channel of CE, CE industry development, and products in relation to energy efficiency, independent innovation and automobile electronics. SINOCES opens a window for industry communication.
With the world’s top consumer electronics brands, well-known purchasers present and a host of excellent forums and special events, SINOCES has attracted great attention from over 200 professional media both at home and abroad, including a few authoritative professional media in America, Japan Business Publications Agency, Dempa Publications and China Central TV, etc. The Consumer Electronics Association of the USA and a series of overseas consumer electronics industry associations each covered the grand event of 2007 SINOCES through their websites and magazines. Famous media such as “Eurotrade”, “21 Century”, “China Business News”, “China Electronics News” and “TWICE”, all participated and distributed over 4,000 articles.
